For the Art of Living

For the Art of Living

A place to learn the old ways, discover new pastimes, and make a little more of the life you're living.
Come in. There's much to discover.

Our grandparents knew how to mend what was worn, grow what was needed, make something from nothing, and find pleasure in the everyday.

Somewhere along the way, we became rather good at buying things and saving mending, growing, and creating for someday. We'd like to bring a little more of the doing back.

We believe a good life is something you make, little by little, with curious hands, a willing spirit, and the time to enjoy it.

The Journal

Letters, Lessons & Little Discoveries

Notes from the house on the things that make a life well lived. Traditional skills, seasonal pursuits, creative diversions, and the occasional reminder to stop saving the good things for someday.

Pull up a chair, pour yourself something warm, and have a read.

A House Full of Possibilities

There's more than one way to live a little better. Learn a new skill at the House, find your way to the country at the Farm, or discover something made with care at the Shop.

The house is growing, and each door leads somewhere a little different.

The Farm

One day, a place to gather, learn, wander, and stay awhile. We're dreaming up an estate where country pursuits, workshops, gardens, and good company come together. The gates aren't open just yet.

The Shop

A considered collection of handmade goods, useful tools, thoughtful gifts, and things for a life well lived. We're gathering a few favourites before we open the doors.

For the ones who have a dozen hobbies they'd like to try, a cupboard full of unfinished projects, or a Pinterest board that's getting rather ambitious.

Come learn something new, make something with your hands, and find others who believe a little curiosity goes a long way.

The kettle's nearly on.

Before you go…

Leave a note in the Guest Book, and we'll send a little correspondence your way from time to time.

We prefer letters, so we won't email often (just when the pigeon carrier is off for the day).
